CyberSN is a cybersecurity staffing agency that developed a job matching platform solely for the cybersecurity industry. With CyberSN, job seekers can fill out a profile and employers can create and post jobs using a standardized taxonomy. This standardization is intended to make accurate matches and accelerate the job searching/hiring process.
Rapid apply allows users to apply for a job that they are interested in without creating a detailed account.
UNDERSTANDING THE CURRENT EXPERIENCE -
Analytics revealed that users were falling off and not completing the entire process so I wanted to better understand the current user flow.
One of CyberSN's users got incredibly frustrated while going through the rapid apply process, recorded himself and sent it to the CEO. I used this video and conducted 4 internal interviews to create a user journey.
IDEATION & TESTING-
I created a proposed updated user flow and created low fidelity wireframes to test with stakeholders and internal users.
FINAL DESIGNS -
Since the release, rapid apply numbers are up and only 17% of users are falling off and not completing the entire process (previously 39%).
Ditch the Resume
The fact that CyberSN doesn't use resumes was not clear in the previous flow. This pop up clarifies that and allows a user to sign in if they were browsing while signed out.
Setting Expectations
The initial pop up listing the steps along with the progress bar at the top lets the user know what point they are at in the rapid apply process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The language on this page was updated and a pop up was added so users know when they hit the limit.
Confirmation
A page was designed to let users know they have applied and entices them to sign in to their new account.
